I spoke at the Singapore Patient Conference held by Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) on 30 October 2015, sharing my experiences as a caregiver to my mother. As the only caregiver in the panel of speakers, it was an excellent opportunity to highlight the personal side of the caregiver’s story. I shared my experience learning of my mother’s dementia, our family’s struggle to come to terms with her changing personality, and our determination to continue loving her while remembering the loving parent and grandparent she had been to us before the onset of dementia.
